| A new look for our
stacks When you are in the library stacks, you may notice that things look a little different. The old, Army green, metal shelving units have been dressed up with beautiful wood slatwall on the ends. The slatwall not only looks nice, but it is more practical. You'll probably see that we are able to display more books, improve signage, and have themed displays that relate to library programs, such as a sign and bookmarks in our mystery collection for our Coffee and Crime book club. We've already heard many positive comments from people that the slatwall brightens up the library. We're looking forward to making the most of the installation and hope it will help you discover books in our collection that you might otherwise have overlooked.

At left, Seymour Library employee Andy Tamilio prepares to install slatwall in the Children's Room area. Andy custom-fit all of the slatwall throughout the building to dress up the metal shelving units. Below, a view of the shelves before the project, with some finished shelves in the background. The slatwall provides more space for book displays, signs and bookmarks. | ||
