Seymour Public Library
The Mary Van Sickle Wait History Room
Hours: Monday and Wednesday 2 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday and Friday afternoons 2 to 5 p.m.
The Mary Van Sickle Wait History Room is located on the second floor of Seymour Library and contains items on local and New York State history as well as extensive newspaper files and genealogical materials. The History Room also has extensive collections on Harriet Tubman and the Auburn prison. On-line searching of genealogical web sites is available.
Staff members are available to provide assistance at no charge within the History Room. A fee is charged for long-distance help at $10 per hour pre-paid by regular mail. Send requests in care of the History Room to Seymour Library, 176 Genesee St., Auburn, NY 13021. Personal checks or postal money orders are accepted. A self-addressed, stamped, business-size envelope must be enclosed.
