Our calendar is filled with holiday activities this week, and we're looking forward to seeing you at them!
Wednesday night brings the Holiday Gala at Cosentino Florist, 141 Dunning Ave. See holiday displays and demonstrations, sample food and wine, socialize - and help the Friends of Seymour Library! The event is 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance at the library or from any Friends member and $12 at the door.
The weekend brings our first Story Tree Gallery, with tabletop trees decorated in the spirit of a favorite book. Come view the trees and take home some books, magazines and holiday spirit! Place a bid on a tree, and you might be taking it home, too! The Story Tree Gallery opens at 5 p.m. Friday and will be open until 8. Also that night: An Eric Carle story and craft for children at 6 p.m., to get everyone in the mood for Saturday's performance of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Stories" by the Mermaid Theater of Nova Scotia at Auburn High School.
The Story Tree Gallery is open again Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with live harp music by Chris Molloy at noon. The Gallery will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon during the Holiday Traditions celebration, and it's your last chance to place a bid on a tree. The Friends also will be drawing the winning ticket for the Jack Reacher Adventure Basket raffle - with more than $200 worth of tickets and merchandise - on Sunday afternoon. Lots to see and do, and there's more to come later this month!
