Two chess masters are offering free classes in February at the library. Thomas McKellop, a master of correspondence chess through the United States Chess Federation, and Gary Scaildone, a candidate master in the Italian Chess Federation, are the teachers. The first class, “Learn to Play Chess,” is at noon on Saturday, Feb. 8 and will cover how chess pieces move and the rules of the game. The library’s Chess Club will meet at 1 p.m. that day. The class “Improve Your Chess” will be offered at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15. No registration is needed.
