Wireless Internet Connection

The Seymour Public Library has installed a wireless Internet connection (access point). The wireless Internet connection commonly called a “WiFi,” will allow our patrons to connect to the Internet using their personal laptop computers that have a wireless network card installed. Our patrons can now search the Internet, access our current collection of books and electronic databases, check their email, or view just about anything they would like from almost every area of the Seymour Library Building. The network is compatible with Wireless B, G, and Super G formats. Users must have their laptops configured for wireless use as technical support will be at the minimum. Presently, there is no printing available from the wireless network.

SuperG - 108Mbps

Public Internet Access Policy

Seymour Public Library provides free Internet access to the public.  

Patrons older than 17 may use the computer workstations in the main lobby. Children 17 years old and younger may use the computers in the children's area; they must have a signed parental permission form on file.

Patrons are limited to a single, one-hour reservation per week.  Patrons who have used their reservation are on a stand-by basis for the remainder of the week.  There is a 10-minute grace period for late arrival reservations.  If there are new users or reservations pending, patrons are limited to one hour per day.  

Printing is available for 10 cents per copy.

Materials accessed must comply with community decency standards, as determined by the librarian and library staff.  Violation of this policy will result in the revocation of Internet privileges.
